Stella was born in northern Greece and lived there until adoption by Greek emigrants landed the eleven-year-old orphan in the United States of America. After overcoming the hurdles inherent to the immigrant experience—assimilation, language barrier, and cultural differences—a resilient and strong Stella embraced her new country with fervor. She would go on to have a successful career with Trans World Airlines In-Flight Services. Her passion and love for family, and for people in general, have steered her into volunteerism starting when she was a teenager.

Meletios is a Greek-American independent scholar, historian and archivist, and founder of Greek Cultural Resources, a cultural non profit that conserves Greek American Heritage. In Boston, he produces the radio show "Mondays with Meleti.” Pouliopoulos researches and lectures on Greek-American history, and on Greek music produced in America. In 2015, he served as a consultant on Greek Music in America, an exhibit about Greek music that was produced by the City of Tarpon Springs, FL. His ground-breaking research on Greek Piano Rolls in the United States and his article on the artist Nicos Tseperis were included in book Greek Music in America (2018, University Press of Mississippi). Her father was a US diplomat and Greek specialist stationed in Athens and Thessaloniki during various postings from 1963-1980. She attended elementary and high school at the American Community School in Athens.

He holds a Doctoral Degree in Composition from Boston University where he studied with Theodore Antoniou and Lukas Foss. He pursued his graduate studies on a Fulbright Grant and he was the recipient of the 2001 Boston University Award for Outstanding Achievement in Theory and Composition. Every year, the Boston Athletic Association receives four gold wreaths, cut from olive trees of the city of Marathon, as a symbolic gift from the people of Greece. We welcome Father Alex Orphanos to the Boston Greeks Podcast! Fr. Alex serves as the Presiding Priest of the Saint George Greek Orthodox Church in Lynn, MA. He assumed this role on October 23, 2022. In his first year as the Proistamenos, he has focused on the ministries of the church and has built up new youth, young adult, and faith-based educational ministries. Working with the Parish Council and community leaders, Saint George has seen an increase in stewardship showing that the church is in a time of growth. The future is bright at Saint George.
